Much of Whangarei’s business historically involves maritime companies and for Oceania Marine, growing the business meant talking with local government.
“Sheryl was appraised of our business plan and a large expansion we were planning,” said Martin Gleeson, owner and managing director of Oceania Marine.
“That included introducing us to other business contacts to assist the project, as well as liaising with the regional council on our behalf.”
Oceania Marine bought an old shipping yard and established a new high-tech operation to meet future needs.
“It was a big investment for us but the right thing to do,” Mr Gleeson said.
“And once the project had been completed Sheryl officiated at the opening – she was very supportive from the start through to the completion.”
