Helping to grow the health and wellbeing of Whangārei’s  community is an ongoing focus for Sheryl Mai, with the Hatea Loop Walk being a regular feature of her own health and fitness programme.

“The Hatea Loop Walk, Huarahi o te Whai, is one of my new favourite places in Whangārei,” says Sheryl. “It creates a genuine sense of place, helps bring people together, and is opening doors for new business and development. It is a real asset for the city, and I am proud to have helped make it happen.”

The Loop, as the walk is commonly known, is being celebrated by Accessible Whangārei as fully accessible for Whangārei residents with wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams, and is central to the action in the upcoming NorthCloud Whangārei Run/Walk Festival.
